A person was arrested on suspicion of DUI following a fatal crash in Oakland Sunday afternoon, the California Highway Patrol said.
CHP said a Toyota Camry and a Honda sedan crashed on westbound Highway 24, just where it turns into the I-980, east of the 27th Street off-ramp.
Authorities said the driver of the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene, and the driver of the Toyota suffered minor injuries and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI).
The crash prompted three westbound lanes of I-980 to be blocked for hours.
